The Berinsfield Bracteate

During 2013 The Friends contributed £1000 towards a piece for the Museums collections. It is a flat piece of gold foil, similar in design to a coin, with a hanging pendant loop, just under an inch in size. The Bracteate (as it’s known) was found near Berinsfield in September 2011. The piece dates to 600 – 700AD and is of Anglo-Saxon manufacture. Thanks to all you members – without whom, this piece would not belong to the people of the County.
